The Professor has spent her life with robots.
She has built them, tested them, broken them and started all over again.
The Professor has spent so much time with robots that some people say she has prefers them to humans.
OKFriends Electric is a magical story about a spark of connection igniting between a human you – and a robot – like you?
Discover what makes you human, how our hearts can take over our brains and how our brains can do amazing things.
For everyone over 7 years old.
Having worked to get Visible Fictions productions Shopping for Shoes and Jason and the Argonauts tour ready on numerous occasions over the last six years, the company very kindly invited me to direct a production of my own for them this autumn. Good friends and familiar faces Lewis Hetherington, Claire Halleran, Joanna Susskind, Bruce Cameron and Stu Brown were recruited along with new friends Clare Ross, Samuel Jameson and Gillian McCarrey. Once on board we set about working out how to stage Friends Electric – a story both silly and serious in almost equal measure.
The production was created in association with Platform who provided us with somewhere to rehearse, equipment, technical support and audiences.
The majority of the performance takes place in the Professor’s ‘Pop-Up-Workshop’ and Friends Electric is currently touring to libraries, museums and theatres across Scotland until the end of October – click here for tour information
